Steve Elliott became Chief Magistrate for Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer in the Summit County Probate Court in January 2023 after serving as a full-time Magistrate from July 2021 through December 2022 and Magistrate/Court Investigator from October 2018 through July 2021. Prior to joining the Court, Steve was an attorney in private practice for 15 years focusing on real estate law, estate planning and administration, guardianships and civil litigation.
Steve is a native of Canton, Ohio and received his BA degree from Bowling Green State University and his JD degree from The University of Akron School of Law. Prior to law school, Steve worked in federal and state law enforcement at the Central Intelligence Agency and the Ohio Adult Parole Authority. Steve and his wife Ann have three children. He coached many of his children’s sports teams over the years and enjoys their involvement in the arts. He and his family attend Harmony Springs Christian Church in Green.
