Leadership Akron promotes Henry Johnson Jr. to Vice President of Programs & Operations
Rooted in relational leadership and shaped by Greater Akron, Henry’s next chapter drives Leadership Akron’s immersive future.
Leadership Akron proudly announces the promotion of Henry Johnson Jr. to Vice President of Programs & Operations, effective July 1, 2025.
In this expanded role, Henry will continue to shape and steward the immersive program experiences that define Leadership Akron. He will manage the full portfolio of our community-rooted programs – to include leading Signature, Diversity on Board, and Junior Leadership Akron – while providing strategic oversight for NEXT, Insight Akron, and our Corporate and Community Leadership Institutes. Additionally, Henry will play a key operational role, contributing to development, communications, human resources, DEI, and organizational leadership.
This promotion recognizes Henry’s extraordinary leadership, unmatched relational insight, and steadfast dedication to growing people. In the last year alone, he expanded his scope with agility and grace – deepening connections across the region, launching new collaborations, and helping our programs remain a transformative catalyst in Greater Akron.
Most recently, Henry earned national recognition by receiving the Certified Community Leadership Practitioner (CCLP) designation from the Association of Leadership Programs – he was the 28th to join this elite group of certified professionals nationwide. The honor reflects his personal commitment to excellence and to the craft of community-first leadership development.
