What is insight:AKRON?
insight:AKRON is a full-day community orientation for senior executives who are new to the Akron area. Through an interactive day of site visits, presentations, and hands-on activities, insight:Akron offers the perfect opportunity for senior executives to “hit the ground running” in the Akron community. With insight:AKRON, executives can expedite the process of networking, learning, and getting involved in the Akron community. This program may also be beneficial to leaders new to the area but not currently in an executive role.
When Does the Program Run?
insight:AKRON is held one full day each year. It is scheduled for Thursday, October 13th, 2016.
Who Participates in insight:AKRON?
This program is designed for top level executives who may be new to the Akron area looking to receive a “crash-course” on our community. This is a good alternative for an executive who may not currently have the time to participate in our Signature Leadership Akron program.
Can my spouse attend?
While the program is not necessarily designed for couples, your spouse is welcome to register. We have had spouses participate in this program in the past, and they have appreciated the opportunity to learn about the Akron area.
How does participation in insight:AKRON affect participation in other Leadership Akron programs?
Participation in insight:AKRON does not affect participation in other programs. Some past insight:Akron participants (such as Linda Conrad, President and Executive Director of Stan Hywet; Walt Schwoeble, VP of Human Resources at Akron Children’s; and Dr. Rob McGregor, CMO at Akron Children's) have gone on to participate in our Signature program.
Connecting Leaders to Community
insight:AKRON participants are recommended by their employers based on their seniority level, prospective impact as a community leader, and their potential to benefit from the program. Participants will:
Become acquainted with key organizations, decision makers, and issues in the Akron area
Connect with other executives across sectors
Experience behind-the-scenes visits to a number of the Akron area’s most notable assets
Learn the rich history behind the Akron area
Receive an overall orientation to the community that will prove valuable in deciding where to get involved
Please use the Nominations button at the left to nominate any new leader(s) whom you think might benefit from participating in this program. If you are interested in the program but are not ready to register, please e-mail us to be put on our list of individuals to contact at the beginning of summer when our date is finalized.
